Breakfast is different here. You get in a line and place an order-eggs, fruit, etc. Today we have a half day tour of the city. Our guide is Jack. Then the rest of our time in Hong Kong is on our own-2 1/2 days.

Our first stop is
Victoria Peak. This is the highest point on Hong Kong Island at 1811'. There are restaurants and shopping here. We take the sky tram to the top. We are given these kind of one use binoculars for better views but my telephoto lens on my camera worked great. Views are so so due to some air cloudiness. It's also very windy up here. There are panoramic 360 degree views of Hong Kong's skyscrapers, the harbor, and Kowloon. Hong Kong has one of the best skylines in the world. After we have time to explore the rest of this area.

We were given this one use binocular thing as a magnifying view apparatus for your eyes |
Next we go to the floating village of Aberdeen located on Hong Kong Island where we take a sampan ride which takes around 30 minutes. Lots of people live on the junks and sampans in this harbor. We see the floating Jumbo Kingdom Restaurant. Designed to resemble a place of imperial China. Aberdeen was originally known as a fishing neighborhood and it is still considered an important harbor.

Our last stop is Repulse Bay Beach. I take off my sandals to enjoy the feel of the soft sand. I even went into the water a bit.

We are dropped off back at our hotel. The rest of the day is ours to do whatever we want. We decide to walk along Victoria Harbor waterfront to check out what's there. There's the Avenue of Stars modeled after the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We spend a little bit of time at the
Hong Kong Museum of Art. The museum has collaborated with the British Museum of Art showing the shared wisdom of mankind across all cultures. The artifacts on display encompass cultures from 5 continents and include treasures from ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece, the Middle East, India, and Japan. Since I have no pictures from the inside of the museum I'm going to assume pictures weren't allowed. I do grab a brochure though. Then I've arranged for us to have
afternoon tea at the very posh Peninsula. Lovely finger sandwiches and sweets. Then we return to our hotel for a swim in the indoor pool. Bliss!

We decide to watch the
sound and light show from the boardwalk as yesterday we watched it from our hotel room. There are lots of people here. A nice experience seeing the show from ground level but the total experience was better from our hotel room. I videoed it again. Frank joins us for dinner again. This time we go to
The Spaghetti House. It's around 9:30 pm so late time for us for dinner!
